Flanken style ribs are strips of meat sliced across the rib section of beef bones. Each piece consists of several small pieces of bone, between sections of flavorful meat. Good marinated and fried or BBQued.

Description

Flanken style ribs are strips of meat sliced across the rib section of beef bones. Each piece consists of several small pieces of bone, between sections of flavorful meat.
Good marinated and fried or BBQued.
You may also know this style of rib as Korean BBQ ribs (kalbi). Flanken ribs take between 20 to 25 minutes on the BBQ.
It is often used in Asian dishes, but has found a following among American outdoor grill enthusiasts for its ease in cooking. Flanken also makes excellent boiling or stewing meat, and is served as part of a Jewish dish of the same name.
